Macaroni And Cheese 01 1 cup heavy cream 1 cup milk 2 cups grated cheddar cheese 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg Salt and pepper 1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni, cooked, drained, tossed with 2 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/2 cup bread crumbs 1/4 stick butter, diced into small pieces Preheat oven to 350. In saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, cheddar cheese, cayenne pepper, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Stir and simmer until cheese is melted. Toss with macaroni. Spoon into baking dish. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Dot with butter. Bake for 30 minutes, or until bread crumbs are toasted and nicely browned. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
