Peppermint Candy Brownies 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate 1/3 cup unsalted butter 2 large eggs 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1/2 cup coarsely crushed peppermint candy Preheat oven to 350. In bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt, set aside. In saucepan, combine chocolate and butter. Melt over low heat. Cool slightly. In another bowl, combine eggs and sugar. Beat with mixer until light. Add chocolate mixture, stir until smooth. Fold in nuts and candy. Press into greased 8 inch square baking pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out with moist, but not wet, crumbs. Cool before cutting into squares.
