Recipe of the Day From Our Readers: Chocolate Chip Toffee Diamonds > > 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour > 3/4 cup butter, softened > 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar > 1 egg > 1 tsp vanilla > 1 (12 ounce) package (2 cups) real semi-sweet chocolate chips > 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans > > Heat oven to 350 F. Combine all ingredients except the chocolate > chips and pecans in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping the > bowl often, until well mixed. Stir in 1 cup of the chocolate chips by > hand. Spread batter into ungreased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Bake for > 20 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately sprinkle with the > remaining chocolate chips. Allow chocolate to melt slightly, about 2 > to 3 minutes. Spread chocolate over the bars. Sprinkle with pecans. > Cool completely. Cut into diamond-shaped bars.
